About the role
The Commodity Sales Specialist will support S&P Global Commodity Insights' transformation into a customer‑obsessed organization. Based in Abuja, you will use market knowledge and a diagnostic selling approach to turn our data services into tailored solutions for clients in the crude oil, fuels and refining sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve regional net‑sales and retention targets by managing a book of business and collaborating with sales teams.
- Coach generalist sales colleagues on a structured, insight‑driven sales methodology.
- Document pre‑ and post‑sales activities in Salesforce, maintain a robust pipeline, and provide accurate forecasts.
- Travel up to 20% for conferences, regional seminars and client meetings.
- Work with cross‑functional oil teams to develop strategy, expand offerings and support ad‑hoc projects.
- Present commodity insights and demonstrate how product features solve client workflow challenges.
Required profile
- Fluent in English and French (verbal and written).
- Minimum 3 years experience in crude oil, fuels or refining markets, or a solution‑selling background.
- Strong communication, presentation, collaboration and influencing abilities.
- Team‑player with solid organizational skills.
