Backend / Integration Engineer

About the role

Strivo Labs is looking for a Backend / Integration Engineer to build, maintain and optimise backend services and integrations that connect its lending platform with third-party providers covering identity verification, credit assessment, payments and collections. The role ensures integrations are secure, reliable, well tested and documented, supports internal APIs and keeps production systems stable.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and optimise third-party integrations, including webhooks and callbacks, with signature verification and reliable retry mechanisms.
• Design, develop and maintain internal APIs used by the customer portal, staff console and business dashboards.
• Implement automated tests and monitoring for all integrations.
• Document integration processes, API specifications and technical workflows.
• Manage credentials and sensitive information securely, with access controls and audit trails.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, and prepare post-incident reports.
• Collaborate with the Automation Manager and other engineers on performance and reliability improvements.
• Follow version control, testing and deployment practices, and comply with data protection and security requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience building and maintaining backend services in Python or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, webhooks and callbacks.
• Experience with payment gateway integrations, fintech platforms, lending systems or related financial services.
• Good understanding of Git and version control; hands-on debugging in production.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation and work in a team.
