Agricultural Quality Control Supervisor

About the role

The Agricultural Quality Control Supervisor leads the design, implementation and oversight of end‑to‑end quality control systems for agricultural commodities. Working remotely from Lagos, the role coordinates field inspectors, audits vendor data and ensures full traceability from farmgate to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain SOPs for commodity inspection, grading, sampling and moisture/foreign‑matter testing.
• Directly monitor vendors and suppliers, validate quality certifications and batch lab results before pickup or dispatch.
• Manage field QC agents remotely, assign inspection schedules and review real‑time verification reports.
• Oversee sampling protocols, centralize laboratory results and generate weekly/monthly quality analytics reports.
• Act as final decision‑maker on non‑conforming batches, resolve supplier disputes and halt compromised shipments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Food Science, Quality Management or related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive experience in agricultural quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of grain, oilseed or dry commodity grading, moisture analysis and relevant standards (e.g., SON, Codex).
• Proven track record of managing supplier compliance and issuing corrective actions.
• Experience with data tracking, reporting dashboards and digital inspection/ERP systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets for collaborative tracking.
• Experience using ERP or digital inspection platforms such as Odoo.
