Technical Superintendent – Offshore Vessels (Nigeria)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Superintendent to manage day‑to‑day maintenance and repair activities for our offshore support vessels operating out of Onne, Nigeria. You will ensure technical reliability, control budgets and uphold safety and quality standards while leading the vessel’s engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance and other routine M&R tasks on assigned vessels.
• Supervise, coach and instruct chief engineers to align technical management with company expectations.
• Plan and oversee repairs, managing crew and subcontractors within agreed budgets and quality standards.
• Allocate and control costs related to repairs, dockings, damages and modifications.
• Guide onboard crews to meet company standards, specifications and guidelines.
• Promote Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) awareness and lead by example.
• Interface with classification societies, flag states and other regulatory authorities to ensure vessel integrity.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of verifiable experience as a technical superintendent, port engineer or technical manager.
• Higher or secondary vocational education in mechanical engineering, naval architecture or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a chief engineer on offshore support vessels is preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
