Shipping and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Shipping and Logistics Officer will coordinate the movement of goods, ensuring timely dispatch, accurate documentation, and smooth interaction with transport partners. This role supports the supply chain by monitoring shipments, managing inventory flow, and addressing any logistical challenges that arise.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor shipment, transportation, and delivery of goods and materials.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation such as B‑Odugwu, FORM M, and PAAR.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates to customers, suppliers, and management.
• Liaise with transport providers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, and other logistics partners.
• Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods while maintaining delivery schedules.
• Monitor inventory movement and work with warehouse personnel to maintain stock accuracy.
• Resolve shipment delays, delivery issues, and logistics‑related challenges promptly.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and industry standards.
• Monitor logistics costs and recommend cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply‑chain activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Approximately two years of experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of shipping procedures, logistics coordination, and inventory management.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
