About the role
This senior position offers the chance to drive growth for S&P Global’s Upstream Energy business across Africa. You will work within a collaborative EMEA sales team, reporting to the Commercial Director for Africa & Middle East, and partner with marketing, client services, content and product groups.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve net sales and customer‑retention targets for upstream energy clients throughout Africa.
- Identify, develop and nurture a diverse pipeline of opportunities across all client segments.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients at all organizational levels to maximise usage of S&P Global content and services.
- Collect client feedback to inform product development and align offerings with market needs.
- Lead client engagements and represent S&P Global at Energy CERA events, gathering insights on competitive landscape.
- Contribute to account planning, understanding customer challenges and delivering appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional upstream teams to shape strategy, expand the product portfolio and promote the S&P Global Energy CERA Upstream brand.
Required profile
- Proven experience in B2B sales within the energy or upstream sector, preferably in Africa.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent understanding of upstream workflows, market dynamics and industry data.
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
- Willingness to travel across the region as needed.
