Senior Palo Alto Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Palo Alto Engineer to design, deploy and manage Palo Alto Networks security solutions for enterprise and service‑provider environments in Lagos. The role involves leading firewall migration projects, providing advanced troubleshooting, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure network architectures, segmentation strategies and advanced security policies using Palo Alto NGFW, Panorama and related technologies.
• Lead firewall migration, upgrade and optimization projects, coordinating with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Administer and support Palo Alto solutions including GlobalProtect, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, WildFire, DNS Security, Data Filtering, User‑ID and App‑ID.
• Monitor firewall performance, conduct incident response, root‑cause analysis and support vulnerability remediation.
• Develop automation scripts and API integrations to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, conduct audits and maintain security documentation.
• Provide technical leadership, review configurations and deliver training to junior staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years (36 months) of hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Proven experience leading security implementation projects and mentoring engineers.
• Strong understanding of network security, segmentation and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex security incidents and act as escalation point.
