Senior Associate – Legal Advisory & M&A

About the role

The Senior Associate will join the Capital Markets & M&A practice of Busy Bee HR Services in Lagos, providing high‑level legal advisory on capital‑markets transactions and M&A deals. Working under Partners, the role involves client interaction, transaction execution and mentorship of junior lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on IPOs, private placements, rights issues, bond issuances and other capital‑markets transactions.
• Lead and support M&A transactions, including deal structuring, legal due diligence, negotiations and execution.
• Draft, review and coordinate transaction documentation, regulatory filings and prospectuses.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies such as SEC, NGX, NASD, CBN and CAC under Partner supervision.
• Support business development through client relationship management, pitch preparation and market‑facing materials.
• Mentor and supervise Associates and Trainees, providing on‑the‑job coaching and performance feedback.
• Manage matter timelines, budgets, time‑recording and billing to ensure operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of post‑qualification experience in capital markets and M&A.
• Proven track record of handling domestic and cross‑border transactions.
• Strong client‑facing skills and ability to work under Partner supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
