Quality Control Engineer – Steel/Piles Production

About the role

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for safeguarding product and process quality in the production of steel sheet piles, beam profiles and welded pipe profiles. Working on the Lagos site, the role ensures compliance with agreed quality requirements and supports project delivery through rigorous inspection and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and supervise production processes to guarantee compliance with the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project specifications.
• Prepare and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and ensure timely execution of Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) and Destructive Testing (DT) activities.
• Document random sample inspections, manage non‑conformities, and coordinate corrective actions through NCRs.
• Visit customers and subcontractors for complaint handling and quality audits, maintaining digital records of all activities.
• Monitor calibration of measuring equipment and maintain traceability of assembled products via Release Notes.

Required profile

• BSc/HND Mechanical Engineering qualification with extensive practical experience in metalworking.
• Completed International Welding Technologist (IWT) qualification and VCA certification.
• Proven knowledge of processing and manufacturing techniques for steel sheet piles, beam profiles, and welded pipe profiles.
• Strong commercial insight and interpersonal skills, with fluent English communication.
