Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager will serve as the overall leader responsible for the successful delivery of a landmark international‑standard hospital project, overseeing the full project lifecycle from planning through execution, commissioning, and handover. The role is accountable for delivering the project on time, within budget, to the highest quality standards and in full compliance with Nigerian regulations and international healthcare construction requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership across the entire project lifecycle and develop the Project Execution Plan.
• Develop and manage integrated schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring alignment between design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control and financial performance, approving commitments within delegated authority.
• Direct all construction activities (civil, structural, architectural, MEP) and resolve technical challenges proactively.
• Coordinate design consultants and construction teams, manage design changes and ensure constructability.
• Lead procurement strategy, contract administration and approval of key contracts, variations and claims.
• Enforce strict HSE compliance and QA/QC systems to achieve zero incidents and zero critical defects.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, maintain risk registers and lead recovery plans for schedule or cost deviations.
• Act as primary interface with senior stakeholders, providing executive‑level reports and managing expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 preferred.
• Minimum 15‑20 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record delivering large‑scale hospital, high‑rise or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cash‑flow planning and cost control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
