Palo Alto Security Senior Engineer

About the role

The Palo Alto Security Senior Engineer will join Blueprint Business Technologies in Lagos to design, implement and manage Palo Alto Networks security solutions for client environments. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on protecting networks and applications through firewalls, policies and threat‑prevention technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs and security policies across customer infrastructures.
• Conduct security assessments, tune configurations and monitor alerts to detect and remediate threats.
• Respond to security incidents, perform vulnerability management and ensure continuous protection of network and application layers.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security controls into existing systems and document solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support client engagements and project deployments.
• Contribute to the improvement of security practices, standards and documentation.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in network security with hands‑on experience on Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs and secure network design.
• Proficiency in application security and the ability to secure web and cloud applications.
• Solid grounding in cybersecurity principles, threat detection, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Experience in security engineering, architecting and maintaining solutions in complex ICT or managed‑services environments.
• Understanding of information security frameworks, best practices and compliance requirements.
• Relevant certifications such as PCNSE or PCNSA are highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
