Operations Manager – Shipping

About the role

We are seeking a Manager Operations to support the Director of Operations in overseeing all aspects of our operations function, ensuring high‑level service to customers while monitoring vendor and staff performance and controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver top performance across Port Operations, Equipment, Transport Dispatch and Maintenance & Repair.
• Prepare and follow up monthly reports for all countries in the region, including cost analysis to reduce CpT and CpB.
• Support day‑to‑day country‑level operations and maintain communication of Hapag‑Lloyd policies.
• Manage vendor performance for terminals and depots, collaborating with Procurement and Berth planners.
• Escalate high‑level concerns and support inland operations growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with other Area Directors on process improvement and communication flow.
• Oversee empty container management, FIFO processes and empties supply cost monitoring.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of comprehensive operations experience in the liner shipping business.
• Strong knowledge of governmental rules and regulations affecting shipping operations.
• Demonstrates customer focus, efficiency and collaboration.
• Proven ability to implement process improvements.
