Nutrition Officer – Community & Health Facility Programs

About the role

The Nutrition Officer will lead the implementation of community‑based and health‑facility nutrition programs, ensuring compliance with CMAM and IYCF protocols. This role supports the International Medical Corps mission to deliver high‑quality nutrition services in line with national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regular support for CMAM and IYCF programs at health facilities and community level.
• Ensure strict adherence to admission, discharge, referral and defaulter‑follow‑up criteria.
• Mentor health workers on OTP, TSFP services and IYCF counseling.
• Train community health workers and volunteers in MUAC screening and nutrition IEC material use.
• Support establishment of baby‑friendly spaces and mother support groups.
• Develop and monitor weekly and monthly nutrition activity plans.
• Participate in sector assessments and recommend interventions.
• Determine causes of malnutrition in emergencies and design appropriate responses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing nutrition programs (CMAM, IYCF) in field settings.
• Ability to supervise, coach and build capacity of nutrition teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of acute malnutrition treatment protocols.
• Experience working with government, NGOs, donors and UN agencies.
