Nursing Officer

About the role

The Nursing Officer will join Dukes Neurosurgery and Specialist Hospital in Lagos to deliver high‑quality nursing care for patients undergoing neurosurgical and other specialist procedures. This full‑time, on‑site position involves comprehensive patient assessment, peri‑operative support, and continuous monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct admission assessments and evaluate patient conditions.
• Provide pre‑operative and post‑operative nursing care, including vital‑sign monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, anesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans.
• Lead and mentor junior nursing staff as needed.

Required profile

• BNSC registration with completed one‑year compulsory service.
• Post‑qualification in ICU or Nephrology/Dialysis.
• Minimum five years of nursing experience, preferably in critical care or dialysis settings.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Leadership capability to guide a nursing team.
