Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist will perform routine and specialised diagnostic tests across haematology, microbiology, chemistry and serology. Working closely with physicians and nurses, you will ensure accurate, timely results that support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests in haematology, microbiology, chemistry and serology.
• Collect, process and analyse patient samples with precision.
• Validate, record and deliver test results to clinicians promptly.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Implement internal and external quality‑control programmes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection‑control and ethical standards.
• Maintain confidential laboratory records and patient data.
• Assist healthcare professionals by interpreting results when required.

Required profile

• Relevant laboratory qualifications and certifications.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment handling.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset and problem‑solving ability.
• Effective communication and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) applications.

• Competitive monthly salary ranging from NGN 150,000 to NGN 250,000.
