Loss Prevention and Control Officer

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Loss Prevention and Control Officer to join our retail team. The role focuses on safeguarding merchandise, cash and assets through proactive monitoring, investigations and staff training.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV surveillance cameras and identify suspicious activities.
• Investigate irregularities such as deletions, returns, exchanges and potential fraud.
• Train security personnel and store staff on loss‑prevention protocols and best practices.
• Detect and prevent internal and external theft, shoplifting, cashier fraud, corruption and bribery.
• Conduct periodic inventory checks, report stock shortages and recover losses.
• Apprehend shoplifters and collaborate with store management on security concerns.
• Document incident reports and recommend improvements to security systems.
• Investigate fraud, theft and product damage cases, including evidence collection and interviewing.
• Support the Line Manager in achieving loss‑prevention objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma.
• Minimum two years experience in loss prevention, security or a similar role within retail or FMCG.
• High level of integrity, ethical conduct and strong critical‑thinking abilities.
• Effective communication and report‑writing skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating CCTV and other security equipment.
• Tech‑savvy with strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
