Logistics Officer – Maiduguri, Nigeria

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a Logistics Officer to join its North‑East Nigeria team in Maiduguri. The role will lead the establishment and implementation of NRC’s logistics systems, supporting humanitarian operations for displaced communities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and build capacity of the local logistics team.
• Implement NRC logistics policies for procurement, fleet, warehouse and asset management.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, anti‑corruption and cost‑efficiency principles.
• Maintain filing and archiving systems in line with local requirements.
• Oversee fleet, warehouse and asset management processes at the area level.
• Conduct market surveys, assessments and provide related support.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly logistics reports to the Logistics Coordinator.
• Manage procurement cycles, from requisition review to contract award, following NRC thresholds.
• Coordinate vehicle and asset tracking, maintenance and disposal.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain or procurement within humanitarian or development settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and build team capacity.
• Strong knowledge of logistics best practices, donor compliance and anti‑corruption standards.
• Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
