Legal Manager

About the role

The Legal Manager will lead the execution of FrieslandCampina's legal agenda in Nigeria, ensuring that global legal frameworks are applied to dynamic business environments. This role provides timely legal interventions, manages stakeholder relationships, and supports the Company Secretary with corporate secretarial duties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive commercial legal support for complex strategic transactions, including local partnerships and cross‑border deals.
• Manage legal matters across sales, distribution, supply chain, procurement, and corporate housekeeping.
• Provide high‑quality legal advice across multiple jurisdictions, collaborating with business units to mitigate risk.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold the Code of Ethics internally and externally.
• Support the Company Secretary in legal and company secretarial functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) and BL from the Nigerian Law School.
• Minimum 7 years post‑call experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or a reputable law firm.
• Strong background in commercial law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
• In‑house experience within a multinational organization is an advantage.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies is a plus.
