Kitchen Assistant – Food Preparation & Grilling

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Lagos. You will work closely with the head chef and kitchen staff to ensure that every dish is prepared to the highest standard, from grilling meats to preparing vegetables.

Key responsibilities

• Grill chicken, shawarma beef, fish and vegetables, controlling heat and timing for consistent taste and texture.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting and cooking according to recipes and portion sizes.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and ingredients are ready for use.
• Learn the full menu, understand ingredient usage and assist with dish preparation.
• Communicate clearly with chefs, kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth service.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff and share best practices.
• Handle service‑time issues quickly to maintain food quality.
• Wash, sanitise and store dishes, utensils and equipment properly.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the inventory manager.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to 12 months of kitchen experience.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and safety standards.
• Strong sense of cleanliness, organisation and teamwork.
• Ability to follow instructions, recipes and portion guidelines accurately.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from NGN 70,000 to NGN 150,000 per month.
• Full‑time, onsite position in Lagos (Marina, Gbagada, Surulere, Yaba).
