Investment Associate

About the role

Idia.Africa is seeking an Investment Associate to support its investment team in Lagos. You will work closely with senior colleagues to source, evaluate, and manage investment opportunities across African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Deal sourcing & origination: research emerging trends, build a pipeline of potential investments, and assist senior team members in vetting deals.
• Analysis & due diligence: develop and maintain financial models, review historical statements, and conduct commercial, financial and technical due diligence.
• Deal execution & structuring: draft investment memoranda, prepare presentations, support legal documentation, term sheets and negotiation of transaction structures.
• Portfolio monitoring & reporting: track operational and financial performance of portfolio companies, collect ESG data, review management accounts and aid board meeting preparation.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, transaction advisory, corporate finance, financial advisory or strategy/FP&A.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Experience evaluating consumer businesses is a plus.
• Experience working in African markets is a plus.
