Internal Control Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an Internal Control Team Lead to oversee compliance with ICFR requirements based on the COSO framework, ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the internal control framework for the company.
• Design, test, and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with professional guidelines.
• Verify that key controls over financial transactions and reporting operate effectively.
• Ensure full compliance with the ERP system and ancillary finance applications such as PRIMUS and the SEC Portal.
• Design and embed dashboards and management reporting mechanisms to monitor the strength of the internal control framework.
• Implement an effective pre‑payment audit process.
• Conduct risk assessments, profile risks in the Risk Universe, and develop a continuous Risk Dashboard.
• Review and assess entity‑level and FSLI controls for design, implementation, maintenance, and operating effectiveness.
• Develop an Internal Control Plan for ongoing testing, evaluation, and monitoring of ICFR.
• Lead internal control awareness activities and training for staff.
• Liaise with all departments to ensure compliance with business process controls.
• Coordinate testing of controls for internal control certification in financial reports.
• Maintain a dashboard of failed controls, recommend remediation actions, and follow up with process owners.

Required profile

• Experience with internal control frameworks, specifically COSO.
• Knowledge of ICFR requirements and financial reporting standards.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and finance applications such as PRIMUS and SEC Portal.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop monitoring dashboards.
• Experience delivering training and awareness programs on internal controls.
