Internal Control Officer

About the role

The Internal Control Officer will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of internal control processes to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Reporting to the Head of Internal Control, you will work closely with business owners to embed robust controls across all financial and operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a risk‑based annual audit plan and related standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate compliance with existing policies, propose and implement necessary modifications.
• Conduct periodic reviews of the internal control system, delivering actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with process owners to monitor and remediate control deficiencies.
• Maintain and monitor Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR) in line with best accounting practices.
• Review reconciliations, payments and related documentation to support compliance audits.
• Ensure proper user access controls and system privileges are in place.
• Provide methodological support for risk management and internal control processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related business field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in internal control, audit or risk management.
• Professional certification – ICAN or ACCA – is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and ethical conduct.
