Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will lead periodic operational, financial and compliance audits across our branch network. You will ensure that loan portfolios, cash management processes and customer records meet regulatory standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct operational, financial and compliance audits of branch activities.
• Review loan portfolios, cash handling procedures and customer documentation for accuracy.
• Identify control weaknesses, fraud risks and inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Investigate suspected fraud, policy breaches or operational irregularities.
• Support continuous improvement of internal control systems and risk management processes.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics or related field.
• At least 3 years of auditing experience in a Microfinance Institution.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit procedures, risk management and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
