Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will support the HR Manager in all core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compensation, performance management and staff training for NI‑ABAE, an evidence‑based organization focused on increasing childhood vaccination rates in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the selection and in‑person interviewing of Field Officers at the LGA level, coordinate interview logistics, and liaise with community leaders and the SR unit.
• Promote job openings on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, manage candidate outreach, schedule interviews, and conduct reference and background checks.
• Prepare and maintain recruitment tracking sheets and provide feedback on recruitment outcomes.
• Support onboarding by ensuring new hires complete pension, NHF registration, and office account setup, and coordinate physical training sessions.
• Follow up with PFAs, NHF, NSITF and tax offices on remittances and maintain accurate employee records.
• Review leave applications in Zoho, keep employee information up‑to‑date, and perform any additional duties assigned by the HR Manager.

Required profile

• BSc/BA in Business Administration, Social Sciences or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of general HR experience, with at least 1–2 years in a non‑profit or NGO environment preferred.
• Residency in North West Nigeria and strong local networks.
• Excellent communication skills, detail‑oriented, process‑driven and able to adapt quickly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Zoho HR module.
• Experience using Google Sheets for recruitment tracking.
• Familiarity with social media recruiting tools, especially LinkedIn.
