Human Resources Manager (Full-time, Lagos)

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead all HR functions for both academic and non‑academic staff at Busybees and West Mills School, operating on‑site in Lagos State, Nigeria. The role is full‑time and focuses on aligning HR practices with the school’s Christian values while ensuring compliance with Nigerian labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve HR policies that reflect the school’s ethos.
• Manage payroll, benefits administration and ensure compliance with relevant labour laws.
• Maintain accurate HR records and generate reports for informed decision‑making.
• Coordinate staff training, professional development programmes and support workforce planning.
• Handle conflict resolution, address parents’ complaints and foster a collaborative workplace culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
• Strong background in policy development, HR administration and confidential record‑keeping.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field; professional HR certification is a plus.
• Prior experience as an HR Manager or senior HR role, preferably within an education or values‑driven organisation.
• In‑depth knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and a commitment to fair, inclusive HR practices.
