HSE & Dock Operations Officer

About the role

The HSE & Dock Operations Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on the floating dock, workshops and vessels. You will lead safety inspections, manage permit‑to‑work systems and coordinate emergency response activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections of the dock, workshops, vessels and work sites, enforcing PPE use and leading safety briefings.
• Administer Permit‑to‑Work systems (Hot Work, Confined Space, Work at Height, LOTO, Lifting) and verify atmospheric testing before entry.
• Supervise docking/undocking operations, vessel repairs, mooring activities and ensure safe access between vessels and the dock.
• Oversee fabrication, welding, cutting and crane/forklift operations, ensuring compliance with fire prevention and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Act as the designated First Aider, maintain first‑aid stations, coordinate emergency response and conduct fire drills.
• Monitor waste segregation, oil and chemical handling, report spills and support environmental compliance audits.
• Maintain HSE records, prepare weekly/monthly reports, track training certifications and manage PPE inventory.

Required profile

• Relevant degree (e.g., Engineering, Safety Management).
• 3‑5 years of experience in health, safety and environment roles, preferably in marine or industrial settings.
