Hostel Porter – Guest Services & Facility Support

About the role

The Hostel Porter will be the first point of contact for residents and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment. This full‑time, onsite position involves a mix of guest service, facility upkeep, and basic administrative duties within a busy hostel setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist residents and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Help guests with luggage handling, room orientation, and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Monitor premises to maintain safety and security, keeping visitor logs and reporting suspicious activity.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as lobby, corridors, kitchens, and lounges.
• Report maintenance issues, including plumbing, electrical faults, or damages.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries.
• Assist with moving furniture or equipment as needed.
• Support inventory control of cleaning and operational supplies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and participate in emergency procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum of secondary school education (High School Diploma or equivalent).
• Previous experience in hospitality, facilities, or customer service is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
