Health, Safety & Environment Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Health, Safety & Environment Officer to lead HSE initiatives across our project sites in Lagos. The role involves coordinating safety activities, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate HSE activities across assigned project sites.
• Conduct daily site inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Implement site HSE plans and safety procedures.
• Carry out risk assessments and enforce preventive and corrective measures.
• Monitor contractors' compliance with HSE requirements.
• Promote a positive safety culture across projects.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports.
• Investigate incidents, prepare accident reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE regulations, policies and standards.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Science, Engineering or Social Sciences (Second Class Upper/Lower).
• 2–3 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• High ethical standards, attention to detail and ability to identify workplace hazards.
