Head of Programme Coordination and Innovation Unit

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a senior professional to lead its Programme Coordination and Innovation Unit in Abuja. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and Deputy Chief of Mission, the incumbent will drive programme design, implementation and innovation to support migration management in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the unit staff, ensuring effective coordination of programme and project activities.
• Lead programme and project conceptualisation, proposal development and resource mobilisation.
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation processes and provide analytical inputs for strategic planning.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with UN agencies, donors and the Government of Nigeria.
• Support the Country Office’s strategic planning and operational delivery of migration programmes.
• Coordinate with regional offices and headquarters to align initiatives and share best practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, and resource mobilisation within an international or UN‑related context.
• Proven leadership and staff management skills.
• Strong knowledge of migration issues and familiarity with UN and donor frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Eligibility as a first‑tier or second‑tier candidate as defined by IOM recruitment policy.
