Head of Digital Services – Lead Digital Strategy

About the role

Airtel Nigeria is seeking a senior leader to define and execute its digital strategy, driving adoption, revenue and innovative digital products across consumer and small‑business segments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Digital Strategy that positions Airtel as the preferred digital lifestyle partner.
• Own key digital performance metrics and drive digital share of recharges, bundle sales, post‑paid lines, fibre and self‑service.
• Set up and run core digital services, including product marketing, digital content, advertising and e‑commerce businesses.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, brand and product teams to embed a ‘Digital‑First’ culture and integrate digital channels into go‑to‑market plans.
• Lead the creation of new revenue streams by partnering with content ecosystems (VAS, music, video, gaming) and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Monitor adoption funnels, optimise customer journeys across the My Airtel app, Airtel TV and other digital assets.
• Produce regular dashboard reports for executive management, analysing digitisation trends and performance against plan.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing team, fostering engagement, talent development and low attrition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management or related field; MBA with a focus on Marketing/Emerging Markets preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 7 years in senior management within Telecom, Digital, Media, Big Tech or Retail.
• Proven track record of owning digital products or channels, managing P&L and delivering revenue growth.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and commercial acumen, with ability to drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Excellent people leadership skills, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in challenging environments.
