About the role

Super Tasty Restaurant is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead its kitchen in Lagos. The role involves overseeing daily food preparation, creating innovative menus, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and cost efficiency. The successful candidate will manage a dynamic team and collaborate closely with other departments to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily food preparation and guarantee that every dish meets established quality standards.
• Conceptualise, design and price menus and recipes that align with the restaurant’s brand.
• Hire, train, mentor and schedule kitchen staff, delegating tasks to maintain smooth service.
• Monitor food and labour costs, minimise waste and manage kitchen inventory.
• Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, cleanliness, health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with management and other departments to support overall restaurant operations.

Required profile

• Formal culinary school certificate, diploma or degree.
• Minimum six years of progressive kitchen experience, preferably in a senior role.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate staff and resolve conflicts.
• Excellent organisational, team‑building and communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise and stay calm under pressure during busy periods.
