About the role
The Government Relations Director will lead Renmoney’s engagement with regulatory bodies, policymakers and government agencies to support the bank’s growth objectives, including securing licences, launching new products and expanding geographically.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with ministries, regulators (CBN, NDIC, NIBSS, FCCPC, NITDA), legislative bodies and industry associations.
- Represent the bank in meetings, consultations and public hearings on financial services matters.
- Monitor and interpret new laws, regulations and government initiatives affecting banking and fintech, providing early‑warning analysis to senior management.
- Design and execute advocacy strategies, prepare position papers and participate in regulatory consultations.
- Advise executive leadership on political, economic and regulatory trends and embed regulatory considerations into product and market planning.
- Lead crisis and issues management related to regulatory disputes, inspections or policy concerns.
