Fraud Risk Manager

About the role

Flutterwave is seeking an experienced senior professional to join its fraud risk team. The leader will play a critical role in managing and mitigating financial losses and ensuring payment partner compliance across merchant acquiring and remittance services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate fraud‑related risks.
• Implement data‑driven risk assessment models and analytical tools to proactively identify emerging risks and trends.
• Establish and enhance policies and procedures governing fraud risk management.
• Collaborate with product, legal, compliance, and technology teams to develop and improve risk mitigation solutions.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of accounts, transactions, and activities to ensure adherence to risk protocols.
• Provide timely reporting on key risk metrics, trends, and incidents to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management or related field; advanced degree or certifications (FRM, CRM, CFA) preferred.
• 5+ years of risk management experience, preferably in fintech or financial services, with a focus on fraud prevention.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience, able to inspire and motivate diverse professionals.
• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis, risk modeling, and statistical techniques.
• Deep understanding of financial products, payment processing, and regulatory requirements related to fraud risk.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts to varied audiences.
