Financial Institutions Analyst

About the role

Our client, a multinational financial institution, is seeking a Financial Institutions Analyst to join its Lagos office. The analyst will specialise in credit and risk assessment for banks, insurance firms and non‑bank financial entities, producing high‑quality research that informs investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Write in‑depth, focused research reports on credit trends affecting financial institutions, insurance companies and non‑bank lenders.
• Become the recognised authority on a portfolio of rated entities, monitoring performance and regulatory developments.
• Analyse and interpret financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Deliver timely commentary on topical market issues and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with senior analysts to ensure research quality and adherence to tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum BSc degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience analysing financial institutions, insurance or non‑bank lenders.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA or CIMA are highly beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Good understanding of Nigeria’s financial services sector and its regulatory environment.
