Fashion Designer

About the role

Our client, a growing retail fashion brand, is looking for a creative and detail‑oriented Fashion Designer to join their Lagos team. You will be responsible for turning original concepts into commercially viable collections while collaborating closely with production, marketing, and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original fashion concepts aligned with the brand’s identity and target audience.
• Create mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings for each collection.
• Select fabrics, trims, colors, and embellishments.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure quality standards and timely execution.
• Refine designs based on feedback, market trends, and production needs.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences.
• Participate in fittings and oversee garment development from prototype to production.
• Maintain organized records of designs, patterns, and samples.
• Support marketing and sales teams with styling for campaigns, lookbooks, and brand presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in fashion design, preferably ready‑to‑wear.
• Strong illustration, sketching, and CAD abilities.
• Good understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and textiles.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of current fashion trends and seasonal palettes.
• Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
