Director of Academic Excellence – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a visionary leader to shape the academic strategy of 2 Hour Learning, a remote‑first organization that accelerates student learning through AI‑driven tutoring and mastery‑based progression. The Director of Academic Excellence will translate learning‑science principles into concrete curriculum, motivational systems, and product features.

Key responsibilities

• Design academic frameworks that turn research findings into actionable guidance for curriculum design, app functionality, and student motivation.
• Lead execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure alignment, accountability, and results across diverse school partners.
• Integrate data, stakeholder interviews, and observations into ecosystem assessments that pinpoint obstacles to accelerated learning and propose targeted interventions.
• Maintain strategic coherence through structured planning, continuous feedback loops, and milestone tracking.
• Represent 2 Hour Learning publicly at keynotes, conferences, and meetings with Ministries of Education to champion the model worldwide.

Required profile

• Proven track record of setting and delivering an academic vision with measurable outcomes.
• Hands‑on leadership style, visible to teams and external audiences.
• Deep understanding of learning‑science principles and experience applying them at scale.
• Ability to diagnose performance gaps and build high‑performing teams.
