Crewing Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Crewing Officer to manage the recruitment, certification and development of crew members for our vessels operating in the fishing and maritime sector. The role ensures that all ships are fully staffed with qualified personnel while complying with maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, screen and coordinate crew members, maintain an up‑to‑date database of candidates and crew.
• Arrange crew changes, mobilisation and demobilisation, and monitor staffing levels across vessels.
• Ensure all crew hold valid seaman’s books, certificates of competency, medical certificates, visas and other required permits.
• Track certificate expiry dates and organise timely renewals.
• Develop and deliver training programmes, identify competency gaps and monitor training completion.
• Maintain performance records, support promotion and succession planning, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Prepare employment contracts, reports on crew status, training progress and manpower requirements.
• Liaise with vessel personnel, management, operations and external agencies to resolve crew‑related issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Marine Operations or a related field (preferred).
• At least 4 years of experience in crewing, marine HR or maritime operations, preferably within fishing, shipping or offshore environments.
• Strong knowledge of maritime labour regulations and certification requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
