Content Manager – Move Afrika (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Global Citizen is seeking an experienced Content Manager to lead the content strategy, planning and production for Move Afrika during a six‑month fixed‑term contract. Based in Lagos, you will develop an integrated content approach that supports the initiative before, during and after its flagship events, collaborating across African and U.S. teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a year‑round content strategy for Move Afrika, including messaging frameworks, editorial calendars and integrated plans across social, web, email, video and partner channels.
• Oversee end‑to‑end content production and editorial management, planning capture of performances, interviews, advocacy moments and ensuring content is optimized, catalogued and archived for future use.
• Recruit, onboard and manage freelance creative teams across African markets, coordinating production schedules, briefs and ensuring delivery meets Global Citizen’s editorial and brand standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience, with 4–5 years of experience managing content production, editorial operations or integrated campaigns.
• Proven experience developing content strategies for live events or mission‑driven campaigns, managing freelancers, strong writing/editing skills and ability to work across multiple regions and time zones.
