Consultant Cardiologist

About the role

Our client, a tertiary healthcare facility in Victoria Island, Lagos, is seeking an experienced Consultant Cardiologist to deliver specialist cardiovascular care, manage complex cardiac cases, and support emergency services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management of cardiovascular conditions including hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, valvular disease and cardiomyopathies.
• Conduct outpatient consultations, follow‑up clinics and inpatient reviews, developing evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Perform and interpret cardiovascular investigations such as ECG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, exercise stress testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and cardiac risk assessments.
• Participate in cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography and other interventional procedures, including pacemaker assessments.
• Manage acute cardiovascular emergencies, support cardiac arrest resuscitation and be part of on‑call emergency arrangements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, surgeons, intensivists, radiologists and nursing staff.
• Mentor junior clinicians and uphold high standards of patient safety and clinical practice.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in Cardiology.
• Minimum 5 years post‑fellowship experience in a tertiary care setting.
• Senior‑level professional with a track record of independent clinical decision‑making.
