Commercial & Marketing Director – Nigeria

About the role

The Commercial & Marketing Director defines, deploys, and steers Group Vivendi Africa’s commercial and marketing strategy across English‑speaking Africa during launch and growth phases. The role builds high‑performing sales and marketing teams, develops robust distribution networks, drives revenue growth and strengthens brand positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute GVA’s commercial and marketing strategy, translating the Group’s master plan into actionable road‑maps for subsidiaries.
• Recruit, structure and develop B2C and B2B sales and marketing teams, formalise processes, tools and sales methodologies, and deliver training programmes.
• Design, establish and scale multi‑channel distribution and renewal networks, including physical, digital, mobile‑money and alternative payment channels, and manage partnerships.
• Set revenue targets, KPIs and performance objectives, monitor results through dashboards and lead business reviews, sales acceleration initiatives and commercial committees.
• Provide customer and market insights to shape marketing campaigns, support product launches, promotions and acquisition initiatives.
• Identify best practices, harmonise procedures, audit commercial processes and lead the adoption of CRM tools to improve sales effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strategic leadership experience in commercial and marketing management.
• Strong expertise in both B2B and B2C sales models.
• Proven track record in multi‑channel distribution and partnership development.
• Data‑driven decision‑making and performance management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross‑functional leadership.
• Experience operating in multi‑country emerging market environments.
