Business Development Specialist

About the role

The Business Development Specialist will drive growth for Ijewere & Co. by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting the firm’s service expansion across the banking, finance and insurance sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the firm’s service lines and target markets.
• Research and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, organisations, industries and opportunities.
• Build and nurture relationships with prospective, existing and strategic clients to uncover needs.
• Collaborate with technical teams to cross‑sell and expand services to current clients.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to spot opportunities.
• Prepare and coordinate proposals, tenders, capability statements and pitch materials.
• Organise client meetings, presentations and business development events.
• Track performance metrics such as leads, proposals, conversion rates and revenue, and report insights to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years (48 months) of business development experience, preferably in banking, finance or insurance.
• Proven ability to manage a structured pipeline and deliver measurable results.
• Strong analytical, communication and relationship‑building skills.
