Business Development Manager – Energy & Utilities

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth for CMEC Nigeria Development Limited within Nigeria’s power and energy market. You will identify new opportunities, build strategic relationships, and support the full project lifecycle from tender registration to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop business opportunities across Lagos, Abuja and other key regions.
• Collect and analyse market intelligence, project leads, tender information and government development plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with government authorities, utilities, project owners, consultants and strategic partners.
• Support business meetings, client visits, technical discussions, commercial negotiations and bid submissions.
• Coordinate internally with technical, commercial, tendering and project execution teams.
• Prepare regular market and project development reports.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Nigerian national based in Lagos or Abuja, willing to travel nationwide.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, project development, tendering or commercial management within the power, energy or EPC industry.
• Strong understanding of Nigeria’s power sector, utilities, regulators and procurement processes.
• Proven stakeholder management and client relationship development experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication and negotiation skills.
