Boutique Accountant

About the role

The Boutique Accountant will manage all accounting and inventory functions for Polo Luxury's boutique, ensuring accurate sales processing, cash handling, and financial reporting. This role supports the boutique’s profitability and maintains strict compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily sales activities, process transactions on iVend, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Monitor sales proceeds, discounts, returns, and collect payments, posting them to the correct bank accounts in the ERP.
• Record daily cash receipts, prepare cash lodgment reports, and reconcile cash balances.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports.
• Perform accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and transaction reviews for sales and inventory.
• Reconcile stock counts, investigate variances, and work with the Inventory Manager and senior accountant.
• Assist with month‑end close, ensuring accurate retail profitability and financial statements.
• Maintain dual‑control access and perform random and cycle counts of inventory.

Required profile

• Experience in retail accounting or boutique finance operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Good understanding of inventory control and cash handling procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, inventory, and senior accounting teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with iVend point‑of‑sale system.
• Experience using Sage accounting software.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms for posting transactions.
• Inventory reconciliation and cycle‑count techniques.
