Bakery Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Bakery Assistant to support daily production in our Lagos bakery. You will work closely with the Head Baker to ensure smooth operations, maintain hygiene standards, and help deliver fresh baked goods to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in measuring and preparing baking ingredients according to recipes.
• Support the baker during dough mixing, kneading, proofing, and other production processes.
• Prepare baking trays, pans, and other equipment for daily production.
• Package bread and other bakery products neatly and accurately.
• Label and arrange finished products for storage or delivery.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bakery, including work surfaces, equipment, utensils, floors, and storage areas.
• Wash mixing bowls, trays, pans, and other bakery equipment after use.
• Dispose of waste properly and keep the production area free from hazards.
• Assist with loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
• Monitor ingredient levels and promptly report shortages to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Willingness to learn bakery production processes.
