A&R Partner – Talent Scout & Artist Development

About the role

The A&R Partner will join 1015 Music’s fast‑paced team in Lagos to discover and develop emerging musical talent. Working closely with artists, producers and internal teams, you will help shape the label’s roster and drive releases that resonate globally.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and scout emerging artists across genres and platforms.
• Attend live shows, music events and sessions to build a pipeline of talent.
• Maintain strong relationships with artists, songwriters, producers and managers.
• Guide artists through development, including song selection, demo feedback and creative direction.
• Collaborate with internal teams on project planning, release strategies and timelines.
• Review incoming submissions and analyse market and streaming data to inform signing decisions.
• Prepare reports and presentations on talent prospects.
• Support contract negotiations in coordination with management and legal teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in A&R, talent scouting or artist development within the music industry.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary music trends and both local and global ecosystems.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Ability to assess artistic vision and commercial viability using creative judgment and data insights.
• Experience thriving in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Understanding of basic contract, licensing and recording‑deal concepts is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Business, Communications or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
