Accounts Officer – Construction Finance

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Officer to join Pelmay Global Solutions Limited in Lagos. The role involves managing the company’s accounting records and supporting financial operations within the construction sector. You will work closely with project teams to ensure accurate cost control and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers and journals.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other accounting documents.
• Process and verify supplier, subcontractor and vendor invoices.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Monitor petty cash and staff/project advances.
• Assist with payroll preparation and support PAYE, Pension, VAT and WHT remittances.
• Monitor project expenses and support project cost control.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with financial policies.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• Understanding of project accounting and cost control.
