Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will join OmeFreight’s finance team in Lagos, handling day‑to‑day financial operations for a fast‑growing logistics provider. This full‑time, on‑site role supports the company’s shipping and supply‑chain activities through accurate bookkeeping, reporting and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate records.
• Record financial transactions, reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Produce financial reports and analyses to aid management decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, internal controls and logistics‑specific accounting standards.
• Collaborate with operations, sales and management teams to track costs and support business growth.

Required profile

• Demonstrated proficiency in core accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations and compliance standards relevant to logistics or trade.
• Experience using accounting/ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data, prepare budgets, monitor cash flow and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities and capacity to meet multiple deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
