About the role
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end performance of Jumia's fulfillment centre, covering inbound, inventory, and outbound operations. The role drives cost efficiency, team performance, and continuous process improvement in a fast‑growing e‑commerce environment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with inbound volume projections, coordinate with commercial, vendor management, and finance teams.
- Conduct quality checks and enforce packaging guidelines on all inbound items.
- Maintain out‑of‑stock levels within monthly targets and oversee regular cycle counts.
- Assess storage capacity, standardise SKU storage, and improve picking efficiency.
- Manage outbound processes—including pick, sort, pack, and ship Jumia Express orders—within SLA.
- Plan weekly capacity, monitor packaging material utilisation, and organise offline sales for defective or slow‑moving SKUs.
- Drive performance management through benchmarking, appraisals, and team coaching.
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities, reduce loss from theft or damage, and conduct regular 5S audits.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience managing large, multi‑shift warehouse teams in FMCG, e‑commerce or similar scale.
- Track record of managing warehouse P&L metrics such as cost per unit and loss/write‑off ratios.
- NYSC certificate or valid exemption letter; candidate must be based in Abuja.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
- Advanced Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP for reporting and analysis.
- Capacity planning, 5S audit execution, and health & safety compliance knowledge.
