Volunteer Instructional Designer

About the role

The THRIVE Project is seeking a motivated Volunteer Instructional Designer to create engaging learning materials that promote sustainability and thrivability worldwide. This remote, volunteer position offers the chance to contribute to a global non‑profit while developing your instructional design expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop e‑learning modules, presentations, guides, and other training assets.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to translate complex sustainability concepts into clear, accessible content.
• Conduct needs assessments to define learning objectives and recommend instructional strategies.
• Review, update, and maintain existing learning materials to ensure accuracy and alignment with THRIVE’s mission and branding.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of learning principles and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and Bloom’s Taxonomy.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Self‑driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with instructional design tools such as Canva, Articulate 360, Google Workspace, and PowerPoint.
