Valuation Officer

About the role

The Valuation Officer will conduct on‑site inspections and market research to determine the value of residential, commercial and industrial properties. You will prepare accurate valuation reports for clients, financial institutions and investors while ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect properties to collect data on location, size, condition, improvements and ownership.
• Perform market research and analyse comparable transactions, rental evidence and economic trends.
• Calculate property values using appropriate valuation methods and prepare detailed reports.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, calculations and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with owners, tenants, estate agents and financial institutions throughout the assignment.
• Monitor market developments, construction costs and rental trends that affect valuations.
• Assist senior valuers on complex assignments and professional advisory work.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulatory and company procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Estate Management, Estate Surveying, Valuation Surveying or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant experience in property valuation or estate surveying.
• Professional qualification or membership of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of valuation principles, market research techniques and comparable analysis.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel for field inspections.
